On a Friday like this, several years ago… #14
I started this ‘weekly’ post at the begining of 2010…”How is it only at #14″, you ask?
Well…sheer laziness on my part..wooops
This Friday with the cold kicking in and us finally accepting our brrr-y fate (yes I said brr-y), we shall check out some classic ones that really stood out for these bands… who remembers anything else from them?
Stiltskin – Inside (1994)
Who doesn’t remember this one?
Babylon Zoo – Spaceman (1995)
Many of you in N America have never even heard of these next guys but they’re still pretty big in Europe
HIM (His Infernal Majesty) – Join Me In Death (1999)
and here’s a rarity that surprisingly no one I’ve met seems to know of….
Rage Against the Machine & Snoop Dogg – Snoop Bounce (1997)
On a Friday like this, several years ago… #13
It’s been several weeks since the last classic Friday..why? pffft I wish I knew!
Well after a ‘heatwave’ this week in Toronto, it’s nice and rainy…so here are some of my favourite classic rain oriented songs (or videos in the rain) in non-chronological order:
Jamiroquai – Deeper Underground (1998)
Filter – One (1994)
I have watched this movie WAY too many times…
Gene Kelly – Singing In The Rain (1952)
Here’s that one from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid….funny thing is, there’s no rain when the song is played in the movie…. *shakes fist*
BJ Thomas – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (1969)
The Beatles – Rain (1966)
And of course….so some of you don’t complain, here’s:
Guns n’ Roses – November Rain (1992)
Have a safe and pleasant weekend y’all!
On a Friday like this, several years ago… #9
So much for Saturday posts. HA! Well last Saturday’s party, Return of the Red Eyes, was a smashing success thanks to all of you that showed up, the last minute change in DJ lineup (Perry Mejer replacing Peter Godzina and Nigel Best replacing Jeff Button), and everyone getting very silly
.
It was such a great success, that we’ve been asked to do another party there. So stay tuned for details about our Beat Axis party on May 21st, 2010!
Back to the classics for today. Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been extremely busy and quite happy with all that’s been going on in my life so this weekend, we’re going to look at some happy classics that have always put a smile on my face, no matter what.
Tom Petty – Runnin’ Down A Dream (1989)
Starship – We Built This City (1985)
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – The Rascal King (1997)
Len – Steal My Sunshine (1999)
And a song I just couldn’t get enough playing on stage a bit too much
Eagle Eye Cherry – Save Tonight (1998)
