On a Friday like this, several years ago… #13

It’s been several weeks since the last classic Friday..why? pffft I wish I knew!

Well after a ‘heatwave’ this week in Toronto, it’s nice and rainy…so here are some of my favourite classic rain oriented songs (or videos in the rain) in non-chronological order:

Jamiroquai – Deeper Underground (1998)

Filter – One (1994)

I have watched this movie WAY too many times…

Gene Kelly – Singing In The Rain (1952)

Here’s that one from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid….funny thing is, there’s no rain when the song is played in the movie…. *shakes fist*

BJ Thomas – Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (1969)

The Beatles – Rain (1966)

And of course….so some of you don’t complain, here’s:

Guns n’ Roses – November Rain (1992)

Have a safe and pleasant weekend y’all!

On a Friday like this, several years ago… #12 (Patio Edition pt.2)

IT’S FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!

What makes this Friday so special? Well it’s proper patio weather this time. The last time was just some fake thing and we ended up freezing out and had to go in for shelter….boooo.

So this is part 2. Just a stack of great outdoor tunes.

Placebo – 20th Century Boy (David Bowie Cover)

Soundgarden – Rusty Cage (1992)

Blueboy – Remember Me (1998)

Propellerheads feat. Shirley Bassey – History Repeating (1997)

and let’s just toss this one in the mix

Len – Steal My Sunshine (1999)

Have a great weekend! :)

Once upon a time, on a Friday long long ago, there were tunes that kept the world spinning just as they do today.

We all know tracks that made us giggle like school kids over the implicit or explicit meanings behind them….This Friday’s classics shall focus on just those.

oh and…umm NSFW

Bloodhound Gang – The Bad Touch (1999)

Touch & Go – Would You? (1998)

Dandy Warhols – Bohemian Like You (2000)

Oh and here’s one that was misunderstood

Caesars – Jerk It Out (2003)

From Wiki:

Band members have been quoted as saying the phrase “jerk it out” and the song’s lyrics mean “to just let out some steam, freak out, let yourself go, get crazy, etc.”, although it has also been interpreted as a slang reference to masturbation and as being about amphetamines.

Well I might as well leave more for other Fridays before I run out of things to post…so have a great weekend everyone!

On a Friday like this, several years ago, we went “Wow…great patio weather at last. Let’s do drinks after work!”

In regards to outdoor summery tunes, here are a few that have been a must while chilling outdoors for me.

The Pixies – Here Comes Your Man (1989)

Oasis – Some Might Say (1995)

Three Drives On A Vinyl – Greece 2000 (Farmatronic Mix) (1998)

Jimmy Eat World – Big Casino (2007)

Enjoy the patios this weekend, folks!
